Fall 2024 Web Editor Summit
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, we hosted our Fall 2024 Modern Campus CMS Web Editor
Summit at the Marriott Library’s Gould Auditorium. Thank you to everyone who joined
us for this exciting and informative event, where we welcomed both seasoned CMS editors
and newcomers eager to learn the latest updates and tips for enhancing their web content
management.
Here’s a quick recap of the summit:
Overview of our services: We covered the services available to editors, including Modern Campus CMS, FormAssembly, and Trumba.
How to submit a support request: We explained the process for submitting support requests, including what to include and what to expect in terms of response times.
Welcoming new team members: We introduced new team members who will be working closely with web editors moving forward.
Announcements & updates: We shared updates on new CMS features, DOJ web accessibility requirements, and upcoming platform enhancements.
Revamped basic training: We unveiled an updated basic training course on Canvas to help new users get up to speed with CMS functionalities.
Support website updates: Our updated support website now includes more comprehensive how-to guides and a more user-friendly interface.
Faculty and staff directories: We discussed the faculty and staff directory, which is in beta testing but is available by request.
Font Awesome icons: We shared updates on Font Awesome icons to make content more engaging and visually appealing.
"Bits & Bytes": We introduced our new bimonthly open forum for CMS editors, focusing on specific topics and answering questions in real time. Request the recurring meeting link(s) and/or submit a topic you would like us to cover.
Site review checklists: We provided a checklist to ensure a smooth site launch, covering critical steps to avoid common pitfalls.
Leveraging AI for content writing: Lastly, we explored how AI can assist in content creation, improving productivity and consistency.
